Saffas: Mokotjo stars in England, Jali set for SA return

Bafana Bafana midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo came off the bench to supply the winner as Brentford edged closer to securing a play-off spot in a bid for promotion to the Premier League, writes MARSHALL GOUTS.

Bongani Zungu:

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder featured yet another 90 minutes for Amiens as they secured a 3-1 victory against Strasbourg. The Bafana Bafana midfielder registered his 23rd Ligue 1 appearance, with his team 13th on the table – 11 points adrift of relegation and 50 points behind champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Keagan Dolly:

The Bafana Bafana winger made his 13th appearance in Ligue 1 as Montpellier suffered a 1-0 loss to Mario Ballotelli’s OG Nice. The former Ajax Cape Town man was substituted after 66 minutes. The result sees Montpellier occupy eighth spot on the table, with 46 points amassed from their allotted 34 games.

Kamohelo Mokotjo:

With the scores deadlocked at 1-1, Mokotjo came on as a 65th minute substitute against derby rivals Queens Park Rangers and supplied the winning goal for Brentford, who not only extended their unbeaten streak to seven consecutive games, but also moved one point away from play-off spot.

Luther Singh:

Singh made his 31st appearance of the season, lasting the entire 90 minutes as SC Braga B played to a 2-2 draw with Académico de Viseu F.C. The result sees Braga languish in 16th position – nine points behind bottom-placed Real S.C.

Lebo Mothiba:

Mothiba lasted the entire 90 minutes as Lille suffered a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Olympique Marseille. Lille find themselves in a spot of bother, languishing second-from-bottom, three points ahead of last-placed Metz.

Dino Ndlovu:

The former SuperSport United striker was unable to add to his red-hot scoring form as Zhejiang Greentown played to a 1-1 draw against Shenzhen. The result sees Ndlovu’s spot drop to fourth on the table – three points behind top-placed Wuhan Zall on the Chinese League One table.
Ndlovu has netted seven goals in as many games for the Chinese outfit.

Lebo Phiri:

Phiri made his 18th Ligue 1 appearance of the season when he came on as a 79th minute substitute as tenth-placed Guingamp recorded a 3-1 victory against Radamel Falcao’s Monaco.

Andile Jali:

The former Pirates star parted ways with Belgian outfit KV Oostende with mutual consent, paving his return to the Absa Premiership.

Pitso Mosimane already confirmed that he has engaged in negotiations with the 28-year-old in a bid to sign him.
