Bafana Bafana return to Africa Cup of Nations qualification action next month when they face Kenya in a crucial double-header.
Pitso Mosimane’s side could not have asked for a better start to their road to AFCON 2027, after defeating Guinea at home while thumping Eritrea in their opening two matches.
South Africa now have a firm group on Group D, however their next two matches against Kenya at home and away remain crucial in the race to qualify for next year’s tournament which will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Bafana to host Kenya at Orlando Stadium
SAFA has confirmed that Bafana Bafana will host Kenya at Orlando Stadium on Friday, 13 November with kick-off scheduled for 18:00. Four days later, South Africa travel to Nairobi for the return leg.
There will be a massive local angle to the clash, with Kenya now coached by South African legend Benni McCarthy. For the Harambee Stars, qualification pressure is off as they have automatically qualified as co-hosts.
McCarthy will still be desperate for a positive showing though, as his side needs to find some serious momentum. Kenya salvaged a late draw against Eritrea in their opener before falling to Guinea, leaving them bottom of Group D as things stand.
For Bafana Bafana, securing maximum points across both fixtures will put them on the brink of sealing their spot at AFCON 2027.
