Former Real Madrid and Manchester United central defender Raphael Varane has announced his retirement at the age of 31.
Varane has solidified himself as a modern day legend, winning four UEFA Champions League trophies, three La Liga titles and the FIFA World Cup for France.
The 31 year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his career and has decided it is the right time to hang up his boots in order to pursue a life outside the game.
