1. Lionel Messi – 26 goals (Barcelona)
Messi is the all-time top scorer in El Clasico history, finding the net 26 times for Barcelona. That includes 18 goals in La Liga, six in the Supercopa and two in the Champions League. He also holds the record for most assists in the fixture with 14. No player has dominated this rivalry in the modern era like Messi.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo – 18 goals (Real Madrid)
Ronaldo scored 18 El Clasico goals between 2009 and 2018, matching Di Stefano’s long-standing record. He also holds the record for scoring in the most consecutive El Clasico matches, finding the net in six straight games between the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.
3. Alfredo Di Stefano – 18 goals (Real Madrid)
The man who held the record for decades. Di Stefano scored 18 El Clasico goals during Real Madrid’s dominant era in the 1950s and 60s and remains the oldest ever scorer in the fixture’s history, finding the net aged 37.
4. Karim Benzema – 16 goals (Real Madrid)
Benzema moved into fourth on the all-time list with 16 El Clasico strikes before leaving Real Madrid for Saudi Arabia. He also contributed 11 assists in the fixture across more than a decade at the club.

5. Raul – 15 goals (Real Madrid)
Between 2000 and 2010, no player scored more El Clasico goals than Raul. The Real Madrid legend scored 15 times in 37 appearances against Barcelona. His first came in September 1995. His last in May 2008.
6. Cesar Rodriguez – 14 goals (Barcelona)
One of the lesser-known names on this list but a genuine Clasico legend. Cesar scored 14 goals for Barcelona in the 1940s and 50s, including a famous hat-trick in a 4-2 win in March 1952.
7. Ferenc Puskas – 14 goals (Real Madrid)
Signed by Real Madrid president Santiago Bernabeu against the wishes of his own board, Puskas repaid the faith with 14 El Clasico goals. One of the fixture’s most feared forwards of his era.

8. Francisco Gento – 14 goals (Real Madrid)
Eighteen years at Real Madrid, 14 goals against Barcelona. Gento is among the most successful players in El Clasico history, having recorded more victories against Barcelona than almost any other player across his remarkable career.
9. Carlos Santillana – 12 goals (Real Madrid)
A lethal centre forward across the 1970s and 80s, Santillana scored 12 El Clasico goals and holds the unique record of having scored in more different venues than any other player in the fixture’s history.
10. Luis Suarez – 11 goals (Barcelona)
Suarez scored 11 El Clasico goals at an impressive average of 0.73 per game. His most memorable came in October 2018 when he scored a hat-trick in Barcelona’s 5-1 thrashing of Real Madrid.
