UJ overwhelmed UP-Tuks 5-0 in front of their own supporters at UJ Soweto Stadium to be crowned 2026 Varsity Football Women champions, delivering one of the most one-sided finals in the tournament’s history.
Mpho Dlamini opened the scoring in the 12th minute, finishing off a Sthembile Sandleni pass, before setting up Lindelwa Mabuza to double the lead 11 minutes later.

Kabelo Mokoena added a third before the break, and UJ never let up after the interval, with Sbongakonke Mzobe converting a Kamogelo Maponya cutback early in the second half. Mabuza completed her brace late on to round off the scoring.
Mabuza was named FNB Player of the Match and also claimed the Suzuki Golden Boot, while Dlamini picked up the SportPesa Goal Rush Award.
TUT’s Sibongile Ntoane was named FNB Player of the Tournament despite her side falling short in the semi-finals.
