TUT turn their attention to defending champions UFS in round two of Varsity Football, both sides looking to respond after opening-day defeats. TUT fell 1-0 to UJ, while UFS were beaten 4-2 by UP-Tuks in a shock result at Shimla Park.
Raphala says the squad won’t dwell on the setback.
“It was a tough game but there are positives we can take from it, we showed character and created chances, but now it’s about learning from our mistakes and responding strongly,” he said. “We respect UFS, we all know what they did to us last year, but our focus is executing our game plan and bouncing back.”
Raphala credited head coach Bushy Moloi’s experience for the squad’s improved attacking approach heading into the campaign.
“We focused on consistency. We know how to reach the final and win it,” he said. “Our target is to go all the way.”
