Kane hails Olise as world’s best winger

Harry Kane has labelled Michael Olise “the best winger in the world” after Bayern Munich’s progression to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Bayern secured their place in the last four following a high-scoring two-leg victory over Real Madrid, with Olise playing a decisive role. The French winger scored a standout goal in Munich to help seal the tie, underlining his growing influence at the club.

While his teammate has declared him the best right now, Olise’s performances have put him alongside leading wide players such as Lamine Yamal, Vinicius Junior, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Raphinha.

Since joining Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024 for just over £50 million, Olise has adapted quickly and delivered consistent output at the highest level.

In the Champions League, his numbers underline that impact. He leads the competition with six assists and eight completed through balls, while ranking among the top players for take-ons, chances created and final-third involvement. He has also scored four goals, with 16 shots on target and 39 attempts overall.

Domestically, his influence has been even greater. Olise has recorded 12 goals and 20 assists in 27 Bundesliga appearances, contributing to Bayern’s record-breaking campaign.
