Kabelo Kgositsile broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a superb volley on the turn, before Nkosinathi Sibisi sealed the points on the hour mark with a sharp near-post header from a corner.
The result pulls the Buccaneers within a single point of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, with a game still in hand.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs’ frustrations continued at the Mbombela Stadium as Golden Arrows held the Amakhosi to a goalless stalemate, with Lebohang Maboe left to rue his missed penalty.
Over in Durban, Milford FC and Durban City FC shared the spoils in a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
Mvelo Zikakayo fired Milford ahead in the 39th minute, but Luphumlo Sifumba struck five minutes after the restart to restore parity.
The weekend’s action officially drew to a close at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, where Chippa United earned a 1-0 victory over TS Galaxy thanks to Harold Majadibodu’s 62nd minute strike.
Domestic action now pauses as the Betway Premiership heads into the FIFA international break.
The league will resume on 13 October where Durban City host AmaZulu while Mamelodi Sundowns travel to face Richards Bay FC.
