Kaizer Chiefs’ five-match winning streak came to an end after a goalless draw with Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Chiefs controlled possession early on and created the first openings. Flavio Silva and Glody Lilepo combined well in the opening minutes, while Thabiso Monyane also tried his luck from distance, but neither effort troubled the target.
Polokwane responded and grew into the game, with Thabang Matuludi delivering dangerous crosses from the right. Bonginkosi Dlamini and Mokibelo Ramabu both had chances before the break, but Brandon Petersen produced key saves to keep the scores level.

Chiefs had an opportunity to take the lead just before half-time, but Mduduzi Shabalala’s effort was saved by Lindokuhle Mathebula.
The hosts carried their momentum into the second half and nearly broke the deadlock early on, but Petersen denied Matuludi with a fine stop. Chiefs responded through Lilepo, whose effort was comfortably saved as the visitors struggled to break down a disciplined defence.
Both sides had chances from set-pieces late on. Given Msimango headed wide from a Gaston Sirino delivery, while Lilepo saw a free-kick deflected off target.
