Mamelodi Sundowns have won the race to sign one of the Betway Premiership’s most sought-after talents, securing Polokwane City star Thabang Matuludi’s services.
The 27-year-old right-back has been a top performer for City over the past five seasons. In total, he has made 72 appearances for Rise and Shine.
His club also form caught the attention of former Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, earning him three appearances for the national team over the past year. Now, the talented defender has reportedly agreed to join Mamelodi Sundowns.
Matuludi pens three year deal at Sundowns
Thabang Matuludi has reportedly put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Mamelodi Sundowns, according to FARPost.
The dynamic wing-back has long been linked with a high-profile move, with both Orlando Pirates and Sundowns tracking his signature. Now, Masandawana have won the race for his services, adding further depth to an already talent-stacked defensive line.
Right-back options at Chloorkop already include Deano Van Rooyen, Thapelo Morena, Keagan Johannes, Zuko Mdunyelwa, and Khuliso Mudau, though Mudau remains sidelined for a lengthy period through injury.
“Matuludi has signed a three-year contract, with Sundowns holding an option to extend it by a further two years, subject to the completion of the customary medical checks,” the publication reported.
Sundowns are set to officially announce the arrival of Matuludi, who is already in Tshwane, once his medical examinations are complete.
