Champions League wrap: Rice rescues Arsenal, Madrid thrash Leipzig

Manchester United’s winless run reached seven games with a heavy Champions League defeat at Como, while Arsenal came from behind to draw at Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Como 4-1 Manchester United

Nico Paz scored twice, with Tasos Douvikas and Jacobo Ramón also on target, as United suffered their joint-heaviest Champions League defeat in 30 years. Joshua Zirkzee’s late goal did little to ease the pressure on Michael Carrick.

Bayern Munich 2-2 Arsenal

Eberechi Eze, on for the injured Bukayo Saka, gave Arsenal the lead before Alphonso Davies and a Harry Kane penalty put Bayern ahead. Declan Rice’s 82nd-minute equaliser took Arsenal to seven points.

Aston Villa 3-1 Viking

Villa kept their perfect record after three games as Ross Barkley opened the scoring, Emiliano Buendía converted a penalty and Henrik Heggheim turned into his own net. Peter Christiansen replied for the Norwegian champions, who are still looking for their first win.

Club Brugge 3-0 Lens

Club Brugge comfortably beat Lens in Belgium, with Hans Vanaken, Joaquin Seys and Carlos Forbs all getting on the scoresheet. The French side failed to score on the night as the hosts picked up an impressive win.

Victor Osimhen sealed victory against his former club after goals from Yunus Akgün and Aleksey Batrakov and a Nabil Bentaleb own goal. Teenager Soriba Diaoune scored both of Lille’s goals, but they have now lost all three games.
