The busiest day of the round sees Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Senegal all on the road, while Ghana, beaten 2-0 by Côte d’Ivoire in their opener, host Gambia. Cameroon, who beat Comoros 3-1, face a Congo side now coached by Claude Le Roy.

Wednesday, 30 September
Eritrea vs South Africa (18:00)
Bafana Bafana lead Group D after beating Guinea 2-1, and travel to Cairo to face Eritrea, who lack a stadium that meets CAF and FIFA standards and play their home qualifiers on neutral ground. Kenya are already qualified as co-hosts, so South Africa, Eritrea and Guinea are fighting for the group’s one remaining place.
Thursday, 1 October
Guinea vs Kenya (18:00)
Guinea, beaten 2-1 by South Africa in round one, host Kenya, who drew 1-1 with Eritrea in Nairobi.

Angola vs Malawi (21:00)
The only round two fixture outside the main dates is scheduled a week after the rest.
Round three follows in the FIFA window from 9 to 17 November, with the final two rounds played between 22 and 30 March 2027. In most groups the top two teams qualify, while in Groups D, H and L only the best-placed team other than co-hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania goes through.
