1. Morgan Rogers – Aston Villa to Chelsea, £117 million
Rogers, 23, becomes the most expensive British player in history. The England forward joined Villa from Middlesbrough for around £16 million in 2024 before developing into one of the Premier League’s biggest stars at Villa Park, with his performances last season convincing Chelsea to smash their transfer record.
2. Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest to Manchester City, £116 million
Anderson, 23, moved from Newcastle to Forest in 2024 and rapidly developed into an England international. Manchester City beat Europe’s top sides to his signature after his rise continued at the World Cup, briefly making him the most expensive British player before Rogers’ move to Chelsea.
3. Sandro Tonali – Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur, £100 million
Tonali, 26, is an Italy international who won Serie A with AC Milan before joining Newcastle in 2023. Spurs moved for the experienced midfielder to add quality, physicality and technical ability to Roberto de Zerbi’s squad following a poor 2025-26 campaign.

4. Mateus Fernandes – West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur, £85 million
Fernandes, 22, is a Portugal international who came through Sporting CP’s academy before a spell at Southampton and a breakout season at West Ham. His technical quality in midfield made him one of the Premier League’s most sought after young players.
5. Anthony Gordon – Newcastle United to Barcelona, £60.5 million
Gordon, 25, is an England international who rose through Everton’s academy before joining Newcastle in 2023. His overall performances at St James’ Park, ability on transition and goal scoring threat, convinced Barcelona to make their move for the versatile winger.
6. Johan Manzambi – Freiburg to Aston Villa, £59.5 million
Manzambi, 20, is a Switzerland international who scored three goals at the 2026 World Cup. Newcastle had a £49 million deal agreed before Villa swooped late, a club record fee and the most ever paid for a Swiss player.
7. Jeremy Jacquet – Rennes to Liverpool, £55 million
Jacquet, 21, is a France Under-21 international centre-back who came through Rennes’ academy. Liverpool moved early, agreeing the deal in February before it was finalised this summer, viewing him as a long-term defensive foundation piece and potential replacement for Ibrahima Konate.
8. Jan Paul van Hecke – Brighton to Tottenham Hotspur, £52 million
Van Hecke, 25, is a Dutch international defender who established himself as a reliable centre-back during his time at Brighton. Spurs moved for his experience and composure on the ball as they strengthened their backline. Van Hecke reunites with former Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi.

9. Luka Vuskovic – Tottenham Hotspur to Brighton, £50 million
Vuskovic, 19, is a Croatia international who played for his country at this World Cup. Despite never making a senior appearance for Spurs, a standout loan spell at Hamburg, where he made the Bundesliga’s Team of the Year, convinced Brighton to make him a club record signing. Vuskovic is viewed as one Europe’s great defensive prospects.
10. Andrey Santos – Chelsea to Manchester United, £48 million
Santos, 22, is a Brazilian midfielder who joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in 2023 before loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg. He now moves across to Manchester United, who see him as a long-term addition to their engine room.
