Only Belgium found a way past him.

Simón completed his tournament with another clean sheet as Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final.
He had far less work than Emiliano Martínez on the night, but that told its own story. Simón stood behind a Spanish defence that gave opponents almost nothing throughout the competition.
His positioning, command of the penalty area and ability to deal with balls behind the defence allowed Spain to play higher up the pitch.

Simón also formed an outstanding relationship with Aymeric Laporte and teenage sensation Pau Cubarsí.
Spain finished the World Cup having conceded just one goal, the fewest by any champion in the tournament’s history.
The Golden Glove belongs to Simón. The numbers leave little room for argument.
