With Spain protecting a 1-0 lead in the 120th minute, Cubarsí turned Giuliano Simeone’s dangerous cross behind at the near post to deny Argentina a late equaliser.
The Barcelona defender was also involved in the incident that left Argentina with 10 men. Enzo Fernández received his second yellow card after fouling Cubarsí during second-half stoppage time.
