The Brazilians extended their lead at the top of the DStv Premiership standings after they defeated Swallows FC 4-2 at the Dobsonville Stadium through a hat-trick by Peter Shalulile and a goal from Surprise Ralani.
The win had Sundowns remaining at the top of the league standings with 54 points after 24 matches, while Swallows stay second from bottom in 15th place with just 18 points from 23 matches.
Meanwhile, Pirates managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United at Ellis Park in Johannesburg after substitute Fortune Makaringe scored the decisive goal in the 82d minute.
Despite the win, the Buccaneers have dropped down to fifth place in the league standings with 38 points from 24 games, while Sekhukhune are eight points behind them in 10th place with 30 points.
