Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister says he is in no hurry to negotiate a new contract at Anfield despite ongoing speculation surrounding his long-term future.
According to The Athletic, the Argentina international confirmed that no talks are currently taking place with the club.
Mac Allister’s current deal with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2028, leaving the club under little immediate pressure to secure his future. The 27-year-old joined the Reds from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023 and quickly became an important part of the midfield.
Although Liverpool have endured an inconsistent campaign this season, Mac Allister remains a key figure in the squad and played a major role in the club’s Premier League title success last year.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray, the midfielder insisted he is comfortable with the current situation.
“In terms of me, we are not in contract talks but I’m not in a rush and that’s only a fact,” Mac Allister said.
The Argentine also congratulated teammate Ryan Gravenberch after the Dutch midfielder signed a new six-year contract with the club earlier this week.
“I want to congratulate Ryan,” Mac Allister said. “It’s really good for him and he deserves it because he’s been an important player for us.”
Contract situations have been a frequent topic at Liverpool in recent seasons. Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah both signed new deals after entering the final stages of their contracts, while Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid last summer.
Mac Allister’s situation remains stable for now, but The Athletic reports that Real Madrid continue to admire the midfielder, meaning interest in his future could grow in the coming seasons.
