Michael Carrick says he is focused on the job rather than his long-term future as Manchester United close in on a top-four finish.
Carrick was placed in charge until the end of the season following Ruben Amorim’s exit in January and has overseen a strong run of results, including wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.
Those results have lifted United to third in the Premier League, strengthening their position in the race for Champions League qualification.
Despite the progress, Carrick said he has not been given clarity over his future at the club.

“I’ve said it many times, I enjoy being here and I enjoy the role I’m in,” he said ahead of Monday’s clash with Brentford.
“We’ve had some good results and we’re in decent shape, but there’s still a lot we want to improve. There are levels we want to reach.”
The former midfielder said he is not focused on timelines regarding a decision.
“It’s not something in terms of deadlines that I’m really chasing,” he said.
“I think it will become clear when it becomes clear.”
Carrick added that he remains committed to the responsibility of leading the team during a key stage of the season.
“It’s a privilege to be in this position and to have the responsibility that we’ve got,” he said.
