Lewandowski hits treble, De Bruyne doubles up

Robert Lewandowski struck a hat-trick as Poland thrashed Romania 6-0 in the Nations League, while Kevin De Bruyne scored twice in Belgium’s 3-0 victory over Turkey.

The veteran striker led the way for Poland in a dominant Group 4 League B victory as they put six past Romania.

Elsewhere in the group, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sweden drew 1-1, with Edin Dzeko making his 152nd and final appearance for his country.

In League A, De Bruyne scored either side of half-time as Belgium swept Turkey aside in Liege.

The Napoli midfielder opened the scoring after combining with Dodi Lukebakio before curling his second into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Romelu Lukaku added Belgium’s third from close range as Turkey suffered a third defeat in as many matches.

France were held to a 1-1 draw by Italy in Paris, with Michael Olise giving Zinedine Zidane’s side the lead in the 55th minute before Alessandro Bastoni equalised.

Northern Ireland beat Ukraine 3-0 on neutral territory in Trnava, with Ciaron Brown scoring twice, while Hungary edged Georgia 1-0.

In League C, Cyprus beat Armenia 2-0, Montenegro defeated Latvia 2-1, Moldova won 2-1 in Kazakhstan and the Faroe Islands drew 1-1 with Slovakia.
