Brazil’s exit at the hands of Norway has been described as an unsurprising result rather than an upset.
Speaking on The Soccer Show, Shakes Rampedi said the outcome matched his own expectations.
“I’m not surprised by that result. I didn’t rate this Brazil as much as other people did,” Rampedi said. “If you give someone like Haaland just a few chances, then he scores.”
Co-host Dylan Johnson echoed the sentiment, pointing to a squad that no longer carries the calibre of sides gone by.
“They don’t really have the star power or the names that they have had in the past,” Johnson said.
He added that Haaland needed little to make the difference. “He had very few touches, very little impact in the game, but he decided it.”
Norway now carry that momentum into a quarter-final against England.
