Manchester United have made a formal offer to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, tabling a bid worth €75 million plus €10 million in add-ons, The Athletic reports.
The 22-year-old Slovenia international has been United’s top attacking target, with the club stepping up their pursuit after weeks of informal contact. Leipzig have yet to respond to the proposal.
United face stiff competition from Newcastle United, who recently had an improved bid for Sesko turned down. Newcastle’s initial offer of €75m plus €5m in add-ons was deemed insufficient by Leipzig, prompting a revised offer of at least €80m. Their interest has intensified amid growing uncertainty over the future of top scorer Alexander Isak.
Sesko enjoyed a prolific 2024–25 campaign, scoring 21 goals across all competitions. Since joining from RB Salzburg in 2023, he has scored 39 goals and registered eight assists in 87 appearances. He remains under contract with Leipzig until 2029.

United have already bolstered their forward line with the signings of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. They also explored moves for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins but were unwilling to meet Villa’s valuation.
Arsenal and Chelsea previously tracked Sesko, but Arsenal signed Viktor Gyökeres, while Chelsea moved for Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
