Andoni Iraola began his Liverpool reign with a 4-2 win against Sunderland in Nashville. Kieran Morrison gave the Reds the lead before Enzo Le Fée and Timur Tutierov turned the match around for Sunderland.
Dominik Szoboszlai equalised before Federico Chiesa and Lewis Koumas completed the comeback. The victory came at a cost, with Joe Gomez forced off injured inside the opening 10 minutes.
Tottenham followed with a 2-0 win against Auckland FC at Eden Park on Sunday. Dane Scarlett opened the scoring after 12 minutes before Richarlison sealed the result in the second half. Archie Gray captained Roberto De Zerbi’s youthful starting XI in front of 40,112 spectators.

Arsenal also made a winning start, beating MK Dons 3-0 behind closed doors. Reiss Nelson, Ethan Nwaneri and Ceadach O’Neill scored, while new signing Christos Tzolis provided an assist on his unofficial debut.
Premier League newcomers Hull City enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Konyaspor in Slovenia.
Aston Villa were beaten 2-1 by Porto at the Estádio do Dragão. Luka Lynch cancelled out William Gomes’ opener, but Pepê restored Porto’s lead before half-time.
Crystal Palace suffered the heaviest defeat of the weekend, losing 3-0 to League One side Bromley. Fulham were also beaten, with Anis Ben Slimane and Harry Darling giving Norwich City a 2-0 victory.

Leeds United lost 3-2 against Wrexham in Tampa. Joel Piroe and Sean Longstaff scored for Leeds, but goals from Kieffer Moore, Bailey Cadamarteri and Sam Smith earned Wrexham the win.
Everton drew 0-0 with Bolton, while Newcastle needed a late Ben Williams own goal to rescue a 1-1 draw against Gateshead. Brighton’s scheduled friendly against Annecy was postponed.
