Gunners finalising Mosquera deal

Cristhian Mosquera is expected to complete his move to Arsenal after flying to Singapore to join the club’s pre-season tour.

The 21-year-old defender has been granted permission by Valencia to link up with the Gunners, with personal terms already agreed. Arsenal are now finalising the final details of the deal.

Mosquera, a Spain Under-21 international, made 90 appearances for Valencia and featured in 37 of their 38 La Liga games last season. He is comfortable at centre-back and right-back and is seen as a valuable addition to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s defensive options.

His arrival will help fill the void left by Takehiro Tomiyasu, who recently agreed to terminate his contract with the club.

Arsenal face AC Milan on Wednesday in Singapore before taking on Newcastle on Sunday. The Gunners will then travel to Hong Kong to play rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before returning to London to continue their pre-season preparations.
