Chelsea are reportedly set to sign one of South Africa’s biggest talents Camden Schaper from Blackburn Rovers in a deal worth over Β£700,000.
The former SuperSport United youth player has drawn interest from several Premier League giants, including Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, but Chelsea appear to have won the race.
Schaper, who moved to England with his family, was previously linked with a move to United in 2020 before the pandemic halted the deal. He came to prominence in 2021 when he captained SuperSport Unitedβs U11 side during a successful tour of Spain and later attracted interest from Sporting Lisbon.

Now at Blackburn, the Benoni-born attacking midfielder scored 45 goals and assisted 65 more for the U14s last season. If completed, his move to Chelsea would be the most expensive transfer ever for a 13-year-old. Schaper joins a small but growing group of South African prospects at top Premier League clubs.
