Arsenal clear, Spurs silence Anfield – Premier League wrap

A dramatic Premier League weekend delivered twists at both ends of the table, with Tottenham rescuing a late point at Liverpool while Manchester United strengthened their top-four position.

Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham

Tottenham rescued a late point at Anfield as Richarlison’s 90th-minute goal secured a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Dominic Szoboszlai gave the hosts the lead in the 18th minute when his free kick slipped through Guglielmo Vicario’s grasp and into the net.

Spurs struggled for long spells but remained competitive in the second half. Their persistence was rewarded in the final minute when Richarlison finished from close range after Randal Kolo Muani flicked on Vicario’s long ball.

The result ended Tottenham’s losing streak and delivered their first point under interim coach Igor Tudor, though they remain just above the relegation zone.

Liverpool stay fifth and missed the chance to strengthen their push for Champions League qualification.

Manchester United 3-1 Aston Villa

Manchester United strengthened their hold on third place with a convincing victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Casemiro broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute with a header before Ross Barkley equalised for Villa just over ten minutes later. United regained control late in the match. Matheus Cunha restored the lead before Benjamin Sesko sealed the result in the closing stages.

The victory was United’s seventh in nine league matches under interim manager Michael Carrick. Villa, meanwhile, suffered a third straight league defeat, leaving their Champions League ambitions under pressure.

Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Arsenal moved closer to the title after a dramatic late win over Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Viktor Gyokeres broke the deadlock in the 89th minute after Jordan Pickford misjudged Max Dowman’s cross. Dowman then secured the result moments later, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history at 16 years and 73 days.

The victory extended Arsenal’s winning run and kept them nine points clear of Manchester City.

West Ham 1-1 Manchester City

Manchester City dropped points in the title race after a 1-1 draw at West Ham.

Bernardo Silva gave City the lead with a cross that drifted into the far corner, but Konstantinos Mavropanos quickly equalised with a header from a corner.

City controlled much of the second half but could not find a winner.

Chelsea 0-1 Newcastle

Anthony Gordon’s first-half goal secured Newcastle a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea struggled to break down a disciplined Newcastle defence and slipped further behind in the race for Champions League qualification.
