Kane caps season with record haul

Harry Kane capped off another record-breaking season for Bayern Munich with a final-day hat-trick in a 5-1 win over FC Köln at the Allianz Arena.

Kane stole the headlines with a complete attacking display, scoring a volley, a low free-kick, and a long-range strike, in what was reported by talkSPORT as Bayern finished their Bundesliga campaign in dominant fashion. Tom Bischof and Nicolas Jackson also found the net in a convincing home victory.

Kane’s treble took him to 58 goals in all competitions for the season, setting a new Bayern Munich record and surpassing Robert Lewandowski’s previous best of 55 in 2019/20.

He also set another Bundesliga milestone, becoming the first Bayern player in over 20 years to score six goals from outside the box in a single league season, edging Michael Ballack’s long-standing record from 2005/06.

Bayern wrapped up the Bundesliga title with 122 league goals from 34 matches, losing just once all season, a 2-1 defeat to FC Augsburg in January that ultimately denied them an unbeaten campaign.

Their season is not over yet, with a DFB-Pokal final against VfB Stuttgart still to come on 23 May, where they will look to complete a domestic double.
