WATCH: Palmer spoiling Liverpool’s title celebration

Chelsea halted Liverpool’s title celebrations with a composed performance at Stamford Bridge, securing a 3-1 victory just a week after Arne Slot’s side clinched the Premier League crown against Crystal Palace.

Cole Palmer delivered a standout display, rediscovering his sharpness after a challenging spell, while Chelsea capitalised on key moments to control the contest.

Enzo Fernández opened the scoring in the 3rd minute to give the hosts an early advantage. The lead was doubled in the 56th minute when Jarell Quansah turned the ball into his own net under pressure.

Liverpool pulled one back in the 85th minute through Virgil van Dijk, but Palmer sealed the result deep into stoppage time, converting a penalty in the 90+6th minute to make it 3-1.

The result capped a disciplined performance from Chelsea and momentarily dampened Liverpool’s celebrations, while offering Palmer a timely return to form.
