UCL Form Guide: Juventus vs Borussia Dortmund

Juventus host Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League group stage on Tuesday. Both teams arrive with steady runs of form in their domestic leagues and now turn their focus to Europe.

Juventus

Juventus have won their last four matches. They beat Inter 4-3, Genoa 1-0, Parma 2-0 and Atalanta 2-1. Before that, they drew 2-2 with Reggiana and lost 1-0 to Real Madrid and 5-2 to Manchester City in the Club World Cup.
They also had wins against Wydad (4-1) and Al Ain (5-0) in that competition.

Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund are unbeaten in their last four games. They beat Heidenheim 2-0, Union Berlin 3-0 and RW Essen 1-0, while drawing 3-3 with St. Pauli. Earlier, they lost 2-1 to Juventus in a friendly but won against Lille (3-2) and Siegen (8-1).

In the Club World Cup, they lost to Real Madrid (3-2) but won against Monterrey (2-1), Ulsan HD (1-0) and Mamelodi Sundowns (4-3), and drew 0-0 with Fluminense.

Head-to-head

The clubs last met in a friendly in August 2025, with Juventus winning 2-1 in Dortmund. In the 2014/15 Champions League round of 16, Juventus won both legs, 2-1 at home and 3-0 away.

The 1997 Champions League final saw Dortmund beat Juventus 3-1.
Overall, the two sides have met multiple times in European competition since 1993, with results split across both teams.
