Saffas Abroad: Ngezana voted FCSB’s Defender of the Season

Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana has enjoyed another outstanding season, earning a place in the Romanian SuperLiga Team of the Season—a testament to his consistent performances.

The South African defender secured his second consecutive league title with Romanian powerhouse FCSB, featuring in 41 matches across all competitions and contributing a goal.

Ngezana was instrumental in FCSB’s successful title defense, a feat that also saw five of his teammates join him in the league’s elite selection. His impressive form didn’t stop there—he was also named FCSB’s Defender of the Season for the second year running.

Despite currently recovering from an injury, Ngezana remains focused on helping his club and country, with hopes of featuring in South Africa’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later this year.
