SAFA confirms Adidas as new technical sponsor

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced a three-year partnership with Adidas, which will see the global sportswear brand become the official technical sponsor of all national teams.

The agreement marks a return to a historic collaboration between the two organisations. adidas previously partnered with SAFA during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, a period that symbolised national unity and pride. Fifteen years later, the brand returns as South African football enters a new phase on the international stage.

With Bafana Bafana qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ and Banyana Banyana continuing their upward trajectory in the women’s game, the partnership aims to support the teams’ ambitions while promoting adidas’ “You Got This” campaign.

SAFA Chief Executive Officer Lydia Monyepao described the deal as more than a commercial agreement.

“This partnership is more than a sponsorship – it’s a return to shared values of pride, resilience, and performance,” she said. “adidas has long been part of our football story. This return also strengthens our place among global football nations, supported by a brand that invests in innovation and performance to meet the needs of a modern sports organisation.”

Tom Brown, Senior Brand Director at adidas South Africa, said the company is proud to rejoin forces with South African football.

“Football has the power to change lives while uniting and inspiring. adidas has a proud heritage in the sport, and we’re honoured to once again stand alongside Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana and other SAFA teams as they represent the spirit of South Africa on the global stage.”

The partnership will see all national teams wearing adidas kits from 24 March 2026. The range will include match wear, training and pre-match apparel, travel outfits, and a fan collection.
