Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker has publicly reflected on the breakdown of his professional relationship with his former agent, Mike Makaab.
Parker, who enjoyed a distinguished career at both domestic and international levels, revealed that the final years of his playing career were marked by growing dissatisfaction with the way his affairs were being managed.
According to Parker, the first major point of contention arose during his departure from Kaizer Chiefs. He claimed that Makaab was not fully transparent with him regarding the club’s decision to terminate his contract, which created uncertainty about his future at a critical stage of his career.

Another issue highlighted by Parker was the manner in which his move to SuperSport United was handled. Despite being one of Kaizer Chiefs’ leading goal scorers in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Parker was reportedly placed on trial by the Pretoria-based club. He expressed disappointment that his agent allowed this situation to unfold, suggesting that it did not reflect his status or contributions to South African football.
