Orlando Pirates have handed supporters a major boost with a crucial injury update ahead of a grueling run-in to the December mid-season break.
The Buccaneers have flown out of the blocks this campaign, securing a spot in the MTN8 final while advancing to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
On the domestic front, Abdeslam Ouaddou’s charges sit just a single point behind log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, with a game in hand up their sleeve.
As the Soweto giants gear up for a busy schedule once the current FIFA international break concludes, some welcome relief has arrived on the injury front.
Pirates provide fresh injury update
Orlando Pirates have confirmed that both their Bafana Bafana stars Evidence Makgopa and Thalente Mbatha are back to full fitness and have returned to training.
Makgopa missed every game this season after picking up an injury during the club’s pre-season tour in Spain while Mbatha has been out on the sidelines since their MTN8 first round victory over Durban City back in early August.
The club also provided positive updates on Sihle Nduli, who is in the final stages of his rehabilitation journey, while Mohau Nkota and Andre De Jong are working hard to get back to full fitness.
The Buccaneers are scheduled to return to action on 10 October for the MTN8 final before facing Namibian side African Stars in the first-leg of their CAF Champions League Second Round Preliminary qualifier a week later.
