Head coach Miguel Cardoso previously highlighted the need for attacking reinforcements, and Santos — who can feature in central midfield or in a wide attacking role — will now strengthen the squad.
The deal is reported to be worth around R20 million, with Santos signing a long-term contract at Chloorkop.
Since moving to Guimarães from Major League Soccer in July 2023, Santos has made 90 appearances, scoring eight goals and recording 16 assists.
His arrival comes as Sundowns look to add depth and attacking options following the recent departure of Brazilian forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa.
