Sundowns forward Shalulile clears the air on exit rumours

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Peter Shalulile has spoken out, tackling speculation surrounding a possible move away from the club.

Namibian international and Sundown’s forward Peter Shalulile recently spoke out on rumours regarding leaving the Pretoria giants and PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns. This comes after Shalulile broke the league record to become the PSL’s all-time top goalscorer last month.

In the lead-up to the 2025/26 campaign, according to FARPost reports, the Namibian striker was eyeing an exit, with Tunisian giants Esperance among the teams showing strong interest in securing his services.

Shalulile’s rumored intentions to depart stemmed from his limited minutes under head coach Miguel Cardoso. In response to the rumours Shalulile said, “I won’t lie to you… I’m back, things didn’t go well… we were discussing and negotiating, paper work and all that.

“I decided to call the Chairman and rather let me come back, add my experience and fight for my position.”
