Sundowns and PUMA unveil star-studded new away kit

The "Fueled by the Sun" away shirt carries two stars for the first time, marking Masandawana's second CAF Champions League triumph.

Mamelodi Sundowns and PUMA have unveiled the club’s away kit for the 2026/27 season, built around a campaign called “Fueled by the Sun” that ties the design directly to the club’s on-field identity.

The jersey itself is royal blue with white shorts and blue socks, and for the first time carries two stars above the crest, marking Sundowns’ second CAF Champions League title, secured in May 2026.

Geometric graphics radiate across the shirt to represent the sun’s energy, while a mix of royal blue, deep navy and the club’s signature yellow give the design its contrast and depth.

PUMA SA Marketing Director Brett Bellinger said the design was meant to capture something specific about the club’s identity.

“The new Away Kit is inspired by the powerful energy that defines Mamelodi Sundowns,” he said. “It is a bold expression of the Masandawana spirit and embodies the club’s ambition and the momentum that drives every performance.”

Club ambassador and former captain Hlompho Kekana tied the design back to the supporters who travel with the team.

“The singing and beating of drums by our supporters create an energy that fuels the players on the pitch,” he said. “The Away Kit is a tribute to their passion, unwavering commitment and sacrifices.”

Two versions will be available: an Authentic version built in PUMA’s ULTRAWEAVE fabric, designed for elite performance with sweat-wicking dryCELL and heat-regulating ThermoAdapt technology, and a Replica version made from recycled polyester.

The kit goes on sale at the end of August, with the Authentic players’ shirt priced at R2,399, the Replica in men’s and women’s sizing at R1,299, and the kids’ Replica at R1,199.

Stock will be available through PUMA.com, PUMA retail stores, and other major retailers including Totalsports, Sportsmans Warehouse, Studio 88, JD Sports and Takealot.
