The 24-year-old arrived valued at just €800,000 (R15.3 million) on Transfermarkt. Twelve goals and nine assists later, that figure has climbed to €2 million (R38.3 million) – more than doubling in under a year and placing him joint top with Relebohile Mofokeng as the most valued player at the club.
The former SuperSport United winger sits sixth on the list of the PSL’s highest valued players, with all five players above him from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Iqraam Rayners leads at €3 million (R57.5 million), ahead of Marcelo Allende and Teboho Mokoena on €2.5 million (R47.9 million) each. Tashreeq Matthews and Nuno Santos also sit above Appollis, though both are within striking distance.
Appollis is widely expected to feature in Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup. A strong tournament could push his valuation higher still.
Should Pirates clinch the Betway Premiership title against Orbit College on the final day, both Appollis and Mofokeng stand to benefit further.
