Orlando Pirates missed the chance to move top of the Betway Premiership after a 2-2 draw with Richards Bay at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on Friday night.
The Buccaneers were forced to come from behind twice, with Lebone Seema rescuing a point deep into stoppage time after the hosts had looked set for victory.
Richards Bay made a strong start and took the lead after 10 minutes. Simphiwe Mcineka’s header dropped kindly for Thulani Gumede, who struck a clean volley past Sipho Chaine from outside the box.

Pirates struggled to find rhythm in the first half but created chances through Thalente Mbatha and Yanela Mbuthuma, both of whom were denied by Ian Otieno.
The visitors improved after the break and levelled in the 52nd minute. Oswin Appollis controlled a delivery from the left before finishing from close range to make it 1-1.

However, Richards Bay restored their lead just before the hour mark. Lindokuhle Zikhali found space in the area and fired home his second goal of the season to put the hosts back in front.
Pirates pushed for another equaliser and thought they had found it late on, but a goal from Evidence Makgopa was ruled out for a foul on Otieno.
The pressure continued and eventually told in the 92nd minute. Seema stepped up with a long-range strike to level matters and deny Richards Bay all three points.
The result leaves Pirates second on the table, one point behind Mamelodi Sundowns, having played a game more.
