Orlando Pirates have started their Betway Premiership title-defence in blistering fashion however coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is far from satisfied.
Seven wins and a draw from their opening eight matches is the exact kind of start championship campaigns are built on.
At the back, Sipho Chaine has been virtually untouchable. Conceding just one goal all season, and even that was a penalty, with seven clean sheets out of eight games is as solid as it gets.
As far as the league is concerned, the Buccaneers are currently in cruise control, however their coach isn’t resting on his laurels.
Bucs coach ‘bothered’ by latest performance
Despite defeating TS Galaxy 3-0 on Tuesday evening, Ouaddou is refusing to let his players get comfortable.
“We will retain the result because to be honest I cannot be satisfied how we managed the game. The way we kept the possession, we lost too much the ball in the middle and I think for a team of a high level you cannot lose such many balls in the middle,” Ouaddou told reporters following the match as quoted by KickOff.
“I think it’s something that bothered me to be honest, we have to fix this, we have to fix this, but let’s be happy, let’s congratulate the boys.”
The Buccaneers remain one point behind Mamelodi Sundowns, however Ouddou’s side have one game in hand. Next up for them though is a CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against Namibia’s African Stars over the weekend.
