Maart leaves Chiefs for Austria’s SV Ried

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of Bafana Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart to Austrian second-tier side SV Ried.

The 29-year-old, whose contract expired in June, had been linked with a move after being left out of the club’s pre-season tour to the Netherlands.

Maart joined Amakhosi in 2022 and was part of the side that ended the club’s nine-year trophy drought by lifting the Nedbank Cup last season. The former Chiefs captain now heads to Europe for the next chapter of his career.
