AmaZulu sink Stellies, Kaze gets off to winning start – PSL wrap

A penalty settled matters at Sugar Ray Xulu, Golden Arrows and Chippa shared the spoils, and old Chiefs colleagues went head-to-head in Limpopo.

Stellenbosch 0-1 AmaZulu

A cagey afternoon at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium was settled by the spot. Thando Ngwenya converted after Athini Maqokola was fouled in the box, giving Arthur Zwane’s side a narrow opening-day win despite Sinoxolo Kwayiba going close for the hosts earlier on.

Golden Arrows 0-0 Chippa United

Neither side could find a breakthrough at King Zwelithini Stadium. Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali had the busier afternoon as Arrows raised the tempo after the break, but the hosts’ late pressure never quite produced the finish to match it.

Sekhukhune United 1-0 Durban City

Bright Ndlovu’s 26th-minute strike gave Cedric Kaze a winning start against former Kaizer Chiefs colleague Khalil Ben Youssef. Melusi Buthelezi denied Jean Lwamba in the first half, while Durban’s best chance went begging when Keletso Sifumba blazed over from close range after a rebound.
