United wonderkid eyes switch to Spain

The 15-year-old has become one of the most closely watched prospects in European football, with several major clubs tracking his future.

According to SPORT, Gabriel has informed Manchester United through his family and agent, Ali Barat, that he does not intend to sign a new contract once he turns 16.

United are understood to have made several proposals in an attempt to keep the teenager, but his position remains unchanged.

Gabriel has also stepped back from some of his commitments with the club while he and his representatives consider the next move in his career.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all reportedly in the race for his signature, with Gabriel and his family having already met representatives of interested clubs.

His visit to Barcelona became public last week, while the family have also travelled to Madrid as they weigh up their options.
