Towering defender Given Msimango has officially confirmed that his chapter with Kaizer Chiefs has drawn to a close, bringing an end to his journey in Soweto.
The 29-year-old center-back originally arrived at Naturena ahead of the 2023/24 season following an impressive spell at TS Galaxy. He was viewed as one of the club’s future leaders at the time.
During a busy debut campaign, he quickly locked down a regular spot, racking up 30 appearances across all competitions for the Glamour Boys. The arrivals of Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley in 2024 however meant the former Galaxy captain fell down the pecking order at Naturena.
That shift resulted in limited playing time, with Msimango featuring in just 10 matches during the 2024/25 season. Frustratingly, his opportunities were restricted even further last season as he spent a significant portion of the campaign sidelined due to injury.
With his tenure at Naturena now officially concluded, Msimango took to social media to bid farewell to the Amakhosi faithful.
“Thank you, Kaizer Chiefs, for giving me memories that will last a lifetime. It was an honour to wear this badge and be part of this great club. I leave with gratitude in my heart and wish the club nothing but success,” the defender said on his social media account.
Looking ahead, the experienced defender is expected to be officially unveiled as a Stellenbosch FC player in the coming hours.
