Deon Hotto looks set to remain at Orlando Pirates for at least another season. The 35-year-old Namibian wing-back enjoyed a superb 2025/26 campaign at the club, and now he’s set to be rewarded with a contract extension.
Hotto joined the Buccaneers back in 2020 from Bidvest Wits FC. Over the past six years, the speedy wing-back has established himself as a key player in Mayfair.
According to the latest transfer rumours, Orlando Pirates are set to extend his contract by one more season. Last season, Hotto played 34 matches for Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side across all competitions.
In total, the utility wing-back has made 251 appearances for the club. He has 28 goals along with 47 assists for the club, which is incredible for a player who predominantly forms part of their back-line.
“Information received by the Siya crew indicates that Pirates have exercised the option in the Namibian international’s contract,” a Soccer Laduma report read.
Hotto has already lifted nine major trophies at Orlando Pirates. In fact, there isn’t a domestic trophy he hasn’t won at the club.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou will undoubtedly be hoping his veteran star will be fit and healthy for the upcoming campaign as the Buccaneers are expected to challenge for all domestic trophies as well as the CAF Champions League title this season.
