The Premier Soccer League has confirmed the dates and times for this weekend’s highly anticipated MTN8 quarterfinals.
With the season’s first piece of silverware up for grabs, South Africa’s elite top-eight clubs are ready for battle between the 8th and 9th of August 2026.
This season’s edition will be contested by Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu FC, Sekhukhune United, Golden Arrows, Polokwane City and Durban City FC
MTN8 quarterfinal fixtures
Defending champions Orlando Pirates get their cup defence underway on Saturday afternoon at the Orlando Stadium against Durban City FC. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00
On the opposite end of Gauteng, Mamelodi Sundowns host Polokwane City at the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 18:00.
On Sunday afternoon AmaZulu welcome Sekhukhune United to the Chatsworth Stadium at 15:00.
The final last-eight clash takes place on Sunday evening at the FNB Stadium where Kaizer Chiefs host Golden Arrows at 18:00
MTN8 prize money
A massive R10 million awaits this season’s champion, while the remaining seven competing clubs will each pocket R1 million for their participation.
Orlando Pirates enter the weekend hunting a historic fifth successive crown. The Buccaneers have claimed 14 titles overall, sitting just one shy of arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs’ record tally.
Mamelodi Sundowns on the other hand will be out to make a statement by winning the MTN8 Cup after failing to lift any domestic trophies last season.
