With Mamelodi Sundowns’ pre-season preparations now done and dusted, Miguel Reisinho has notably been missing from the fold, with the midfielder reportedly heading for the exit door after a difficult debut campaign.
The Portuguese midfielder has struggled to settle in South Africa since arriving from Boavista on a free-transfer. In his opening campaign at Chloorkop, Reisinho made just nine starts for Masandawana.
In total, he has 14 appearances for the club, scoring twice while assisting once more. In contrast, his fellow countryman Nuno Santos scored five goals while assisting 10 more, featuring 31 times for Sundowns in his debut season.
According to the latest transfer updates, Reisinho hasn’t reported to Chloorkop for pre-season, and is currently back home in Portugal.
The 27-year-old midfielder is reportedly on his way out at Mamelodi Sundowns. “Although nothing has been made official by the club, all indications suggest Reisinho’s stint at Sundowns has come to an end after only one campaign,” a Citizen report read.
If he is indeed no longer part of Miguel Cardoso’s plans, letting the midfielder go would free up a valuable foreign player spot at Chloorkop, leaving the club with two remaining slots.
