Orlando Pirates star Oswin Appollis has opened up on rumours linking him with a move away from the Buccaneers.
The talented winger has emerged as one of the top players on the continent, catching the eye of several overseas suitors following his stellar performances for club and country.
After making a name for himself at Polokwane City, Appollis joined Orlando Pirates in a blockbuster transfer deal at the beginning of last season.
In his maiden season at the club, the 24-year-old helped the Bucs secure a domestic treble, scoring 12 goals while registering nine assists. Appollis was also a key player for Bafana Bafana at the 2026 World Cup.
His standout form has naturally attracted interest from European clubs. However, addressing the media, the Bafana Bafana star made it clear that he isn’t letting the transfer chatter distract him from his job on the pitch.
Appollis focused on Pirates
“To be honest, you hear the things being said but as a player you can’t let that get into your head,” Appollis said as quoted by FAR Post.
“My focus is right here. We have a big season coming up with Pirates, and I want to make sure I give my best for the club and the supporters. Whatever else happens outside of that, I leave it to the management and my team.”
Crowned last season’s Midfielder of the Season, the explosive winger is set to be a cornerstone for Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side this campaign.
Following the departure of his partner-in-crime, Relebohile Mofokeng, the Buccaneers will undoubtedly lean even heavier on his shoulders to deliver the goods.
