Spain have returned to the top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking for the first time since 2014, replacing Argentina who drop to 3rd after also being passed by France who are now in 2nd place.
Slovakia were the biggest movers, climbing 10 places to re-enter the top 50.
While over 200 international matches have been played worldwide since the last update, including FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers across Africa, Europe and the Americas, the results have reshaped the order.
Spain, winners of UEFA EURO 2024, rose one place to 1st. Argentina, leaders since April 2023, fell two spots to 3rd. France, runners-up at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, moved into 2nd. Portugal (5th), Croatia (9th) and Italy (10th) each gained one place, while Brazil (6th) and Germany (12th) slipped down.
