Mamelodi Sundowns duo Thapelo Morena and Teboho Mokoena have been named in the Caf Champions League team of the week for their performances over the weekend, while Mokoena also picked up the goal of the week award.
The Brazilians booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after claiming a 4-2 victory over Al-Hilal at the Al-Hilal Stadium in Sudan on Saturday afternoon with Morena grabbing a brace and Morena scoring a long-range screamer.
Downs will be full of confidence heading into the next round after finishing securing a top spot finish in group A having won four out of their five games, including a famous double over defending champions Al Ahly who still need to secure their passage to the knockouts in their final game.
Morena and Mokoena were awarded for their performances with a spot in the team of the week.
