Clinical Bafana outclass Lesotho in one-sided clash

Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana posted a dominant 3-0 win over Lesotho on Friday evening in a one sided FIFA World Cup qualifier encounter.

Bafana Bafana youngester Mohau Nkota opened the scoring for SA in the 15th minute from Modiba’s assist, before Burnley’s Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis both scored the second and third goals four minutes apart in the second half.

Bafana dominated possession and chances in their clash against Lesotho, running out comfortable winners after creating 10 shots on target to Lesotho’s two.

Bafana Bafana controlled 71% of the ball and won five corners, while Lesotho failed to register a single one.

Despite conceding more fouls (15 to 9), South Africa’s attacking superiority told, forcing seven saves from the home goalkeeper.

Lesotho struggled to impose themselves, managing just eight attempts overall, while South Africa’s pressure ensured they kept the hosts pinned back for most of the game.

The result underlined the gulf between the two sides, with South Africa’s clinical finishing and control securing a deserved victory.
