Jorginho announces Arsenal exit

Arsenal midfielder Jorge Luiz Filho on Wednesday announced via social media his decision to leave the Gunners during the summer following two and a half seasons at the Emirates.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho (Jorge Luiz Filho) announced on social media Wednesday that he will leave the Gunners this summer after two and a half seasons at the Emirates.

The Italian international joined Mikel Arteta’s side from London rivals Chelsea, adding experience and composure to Arsenal’s midfield as they pushed for major honors, including the Premier League title.

Though Jorginho made just 79 appearances for the Gunners—scoring twice and providing three assists—his influence extended beyond statistics. His composed performances, particularly in the Champions League quarter-finals, played a key role in Arsenal’s European campaign, including their hard-fought victory over Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.

“You know, sometimes a season is not just about football. It’s about those moments, personal growth, and feeling like you’re part of something bigger than yourself. When I joined Arsenal, I didn’t just join a club; I became part of a family, a team full of aspiration. Passion, purpose. I gave my all in every game, not just for the result.”

“But for this jersey, for the fans. Your support means everything. Whether I started or came off the bench, you made me feel valued and loved. This is the true essence of football, and I’ll never forget it. Now it’s time to say goodbye, or as you say, when a place feels like home, saying goodbye is never easy.”

“But I leave with my head held high and a full heart. To my teammates, thank you for trusting and inspiring me; to the coaches, staff, and everyone behind the scenes, thank you for your support both on and off the pitch, for always being there with kindness and care; to the fans, thank you for chanting my name and believing in me.”
